For those who’ve done all they can, take heart.
The great waves of anxiety can knock
one far away from sensibility.
Far-flung by fear into the ocean of dread,
one can feel helpless as if there’s naught
to be done, and one is truly useless.
At the end of the day, you just have to say it’s alright.
When you’ve done all you can, it can feel as if you’ve
done nothing at all. An erroneous and eccentric endeavor.
While logic will state that all you can do is wait and see,
The mind may melt itself into the all-too-easy shape of
anxiety. “But what if I could do more?” “I haven’t done enough!”
All these thoughts can send you careening into the dark.
Like a ship without a lighthouse, or a diver without a tether.
One can easily sink into the inky blackness of the psyche.
At the end of the day, you just have to say it’s alright.
Take heart, however, as the tunnel always has a light at the end.
No one will fault you for doing all that you can and nothing more.
While one may feel guilty, one is only human[,] and can only
do so much. It is okay to know when you’ve done enough.
One must know their own limits, and what they are not willing to do.
In summary, one must learn to just say “It’s alright”.
